MANAGEMENT AND TREATMENT
Surgery is done immediately, to
prevent the occurrence of rupture (burst), abscess formation or inflammation of
the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritonitis).
Surgery is done immediately to
reduce the mortality rate in acute appendicitis
In nearly 15% of appendectomy,
the appendix was found normal. But the postponement of surgery
until the cause of stomach pain can be fatal.
An infected appendix can rupture
in less than 24 hours after symptoms develop.
Even though not the cause
appendicitis, appendicitis remains lifted. Then the surgeon will examine
your stomach and try to determine the actual cause of pain.
Patients can go home from the
hospital in 2-3 days and recovery is usually quick and perfect.
A ruptured appendix, the
prognosis is more serious. 50 years ago, cases of rupture
often were fatal. With antibiotics, the death rate
approaches zero.
